There is no shortage of financial institutions along Queen Anne Avenue North.
Between West Boston and West Lee Streets, there are branches for Homestreet Bank, Umpqua Bank, Chase, KeyBank, Union Bank, Wells Fargo and BECU.
And now, Bank of America.
Last month, the national chain — with more than 4,600 financial centers across the country — entered the fray with a location at 1501 Queen Anne Ave. N.
“Our new location is designed to meet the unique needs of our clients in the upper Queen Anne area,” said Nathan Nguyen, Bank of America regional sales executive for the greater Washington and Oregon region.
Nguyen called the neighborhood a “vibrant, growing area,” and that it had been “high on the list” for many years as a potential expansion option. The bank already has a location in Uptown, a little more than a half-mile away at 100 W. Mercer St.
The financial center at the top of the hill is staffed with a team of specialists, including a Merrill Edge financial solutions advisor, a mortgage loan officer, and a small business banker.
“It makes it very convenient for our clients in the community to meet one-on-one with experts when they want information on investing, lending, or small business banking,” he said.
Nguyen said the design of the financial center is meant to help make it a destination for clients when they need face-to-face assistance with their finances. Therefore, along with having the specialists in-house, there are also more private offices for people to meet with them. In all, the location offers everyday banking (checking and savings accounts and credit cards), lending (home loans, equity, and auto loans), retirement and investment services, and small business banking. There is also a pair of walk-up ATMs.
In addition, the branch also gives clients the opportunity to view demonstrations from digital ambassadors, to receive assistance on mobile and digital banking needs.
According to the company, more than 1.5 million households are served across Puget Sound through the bank’s network of approximately 125 financial centers and 350-plus ATMs.
“We’re very, very excited to build upon our brand in the Queen Anne community,” Nguyen said.
The new financial center will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. For a full list of Bank of America locations and ATMs, visit locations.bankofamerica.com.
