Wendy Louise (Sorenson) Jordan was born in Brooklyn New York on July 20, 1935 and raised on Long Island, N.Y.  She married William H. Jordan in Manchester, VT on June 29, 1957.  She passed away in Seattle, WA on March 30, 2016 after a stroke suffered on March 24.
    She is predeceased by her brother Charles Sorenson of
Schenectady,  New York.
    She is survived by her sister Cheryl Sorenson Jamison of Bloomington,  Indiana,  her husband, William H. Jordan, and three children, Douglas W. Jordan, twin sister Caryn Louise Cissna, Brian W. Jordan and their seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
    Wendy graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. Besides a career as a homemaker, her avid interest in literature led to memberships in the Friends of the Seattle Libraries and the Friends of the University of Washington Libraries where she raised monies for each through managing used book sales and creating a sale at the UW.  Loving books and a lifetime of learning, she founded the Mag-Lit book club lasting over 30 years.  Wendy loved children too, and volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem,  (GAL),
representing the best interests of a child in a courtroom setting.  She also joined the Women’s University Club and continued to pursue her interests as the Trustee of Literature.  Subsequently, she was elected President.
    Wendy loved swimming and excelled at it.  She was witty and comfortable in any company. And, she let everyone know how much she loved chocolate.     
    A Memorial Service will be held at Bayview Retirement Community on May 12,     2016 at 2:00 p.m. at 11 W.
