The Seattle departments of neighborhoods and transportation are cohosting information sessions around the city ahead of the upcoming permanent closure of the State Route 99 Alaskan Way Viaduct.

WSDOT will close the viaduct on Jan. 11, and then spend three weeks realigning the highway to open the long-delayed SR 99 tunnel.

The information sessions will address impacts from the SR 99 closure and other upcoming transportation challenges.

A session is set for 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Good Shepherd Center in Wallingford, 4649 Sunnyside Ave. N., Suite 202.
