The Queen Anne Helpline is seeking volunteers to help with donations and packing for its annual Thanksgiving Groceries for Seniors program.

“It's more of a challenge to get food donations over the holiday season more generally, so that's where we're trying to direct people,” Helpline executive director Cara Lauer tells Queen Anne News.

The Helpline has a goal of serving at least 100 elderly neighbors this year. Bags include nonperishable items, such as stuffing and canned vegetables, as well as slice turkey breast from B&E Meats, fresh fruit and a slice of pumpkin pie.

People can sign up to donate food, pack bags or deliver groceries during the Monday, Nov. 19, event here
